This program covers the development, implementation
and evaluation of a risk management plan for the
organisation as part of its strategic plan.

It incorporates an assessment of all potential risks facing the organisation and
the development of strategies and plans to mitigate all risk situations through
elimination, isolation and protection.

Content
• Introduction and overview of risk management as part of the strategic plan
for the modern organisation
• Policies and procedures for effective risk management including: conducting
a risk audit, developing a risk register and developing policies, procedures
and training for the organisation
• Accessing external specialist risk management consultants to facilitate the
development of the risk management program
• Methods for implementing and monitoring the risk management plan
• Methods for continually evaluating and improving the risk management
plan, policies and procedures

Learning outcomes
• Examine the strategic importance to the organisation of developing a risk
management plan which incorporates the policies and procedures for
managing risk
• Identify and analyse risk, and select appropriate treatments
• Implement, evaluate and monitor the risk management plan
